Our mailbox was beginning to look a bit ratty and the numbers on the mailbox from the previous owner had been those cheap reflective plastic square number stickers that were basically rotting off. So, I scraped/sanded them down, removed the red flag, gave mailbox several new spray paint coats of shiny black paint, gave red flag a few new coats of glossy red spray paint, and then carefully peeled back thin backing on each brushed silver metal numbers. Then, I attempted to press on each sticky backed brushed silver number to mailbox eyeballing it as close to level as possible. Hindsight, I probably should have had a clear ruler or leveling ruler to be a little more precise, but I’m extremely pleased with the end result. It appears to me that at night time, these brushed silver letters will shine and reflect light from car headlights easily for guests to locate our home. To further update our mailbox, I might address the weathered faded mailbox post with a coat of light wood stain or paint it a nice neutral color. All of that to say, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE CLASSY, MODERN, BRUSHED SILVER METAL STICK ON NUMBERS! Highly recommend. I really should have taken before and after photos to fully reveal what a beautiful update these numbers gave our mailbox!
