We bought this for two gerbils several months ago. It lasted really well, even with their chewing. Yesterday we discovered they had chewed it down to the metal pins holding everything together so we threw it out. It’s very cute, the gerbils absolutely loved it, just beware that your creatures will likely chew it and it absolutely needs to be inspected frequently because there are sharp bits of metal that can be exposed by their chewing and digging.Broken when it arrived. Thought i could just put it back together but it’s was 100% broken. Not mad tho bc I purchased way too much for my hamsters enclosure anyway lol. Very cute idea tho.The only problem is the hole is too small. Our hamster is pretty small. I would say this is fit for a gerbil or a mouse. But it’s pretty and a good transition step. I plan on drilling the hole bigger. My issue with this hamster hut is that it’s pretty rough and not that smooth. The picture used to showcase it made it look smoother then it actually is. The pull outs seem quite wiggly as well when not on a surface. Otherwise my winter white enjoys using it as a food storage! My dwarf hamsters love this ! It’s a very sturdy piece but unfortunately one of the ramps broke off but they still love it! I’d buy it again though.I bought this for my dwarf hamster, the door looks VERY SMALL!! but he fits! hamster are very fluffy so they should be able to enter! DO NOT RECOMEND for a Siryan!! i bought the hide out with two ramps. its very flimsy but my hamster loves the wood and it maked the cage look very natural!!We just returned from our vet (tonight) devastated to have to put our hammy down. The reasons: liver issues, breathing/lung issues and neurological trama. After getting home I researches how this develops in hammy as she was healthy and spunky up until recently.Come to find out pine and cedar are extremely poisonous to hammys. I purchased this item two months ago... put it her cage and now she is gone from a product I purchased and exposed her to. We are devastated. She was our first hammy so I wasn't aware of this. Shame on me for not researching first... even more... shame on this company for selling an item that is lethal to who they are claiming it is intended for.I hope this prevents more hammys needlessly having to suffer like ours did and I hope this company discontinued pine and cedar products for hammys.I loved this when I first got it, totally cute! But...this is VERY small in the hole sizes. I think even so for a dwarf hamster. I have regular size hamsters, not big at all. They still fit in the palm of my hand. I figured well they wont fit inside, but they loved chewing on it and climbing it so I kept it. Well about 2 months later, today I find one of them completely stuck! Luckily its made pretty cheaply (literally hot glued together) so I was able to gently break it apart and free him. I can tell hes hurting on his back legs I'll have to monitor him to see if he is ok. But can't believe he got stuck!Beau et bien fait
