I decided to get this heated cat shelter for my two feral cats. I've been taking care of them for a few years now, and even though they are very friendly with me, they are not indoor cats. Both of them freak out as soon as they come inside and the door closes. This is the case even when it's extremely hot outside or cold outside. Thankfully. I live in North Florida so I don't usually get any extremely cold temperatures and snow, but we do have several weeks of weather in the high 20s and '30s in the winter. These cats are simply not accustomed to that. In addition, the summer tends to get very warm, so a shelter is also a good place to get away from the sun. Last year I got another outdoor shelter for them, and as it turns out, the quality just wasn't up to par. This product seems much more high quality than the other one that I purchased. It seems like the design and functionality of this is just a lot more thoughtful. The escape hole is perfect so that they can feel safe. In addition, it appears not to struggle with leaks which is important for us as well, especially in the summertime. The fact that bed is elevated is an extra bonus, and also that there are two separate spaces inside for resting and eating.Assembling it was very easy. It really just folds together and there are no tools necessary. I got this product through the Amazon Vine program which provides the product for free in exchange for an honest review. So my honest opinion on this product is that it is a better quality than many of the others that are out there, however, it's still not cheap. At $150+, this is not an option for everyone, but I do know why it's that expensive. The reason is definitely because the build quality is better and it has other features like several layers of insulation and the built-in heating pad. I'm hoping that the quality is evident at the end of this upcoming winter season. After being outside for an entire season, I'll be more able to accurately comment on how well it has held up through the cold.
